1-Day Ol Donyo Sabuk Hiking Safari

Depart Nairobi early morning and drive toward Ol Donyo Sabuk National Park in Machakos County (approx. 1.5 to 2 hours). Upon arrival, meet your guide and begin the 9 km hike to the summit (2,145 meters above sea level), passing through lush forest and open grasslands. Keep an eye out for Colobus monkeys, buffaloes, baboons, and various bird species along the way. At the top, enjoy panoramic views of the Athi River plains, Mount Kenya (on a clear day), and the surrounding highlands. After a picnic-style lunch near the summit or at the foot of the mountain, descend and visit the Lord Macmillan gravesite, tied to Kenya’s colonial history. Later, drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the evening with drop-off at your hotel or residence.
